Cicada Mating Call In Trees

Cicadas, alternatively spelled as Cicala, or Cicale, are insects in the order Hemiptera, suborder Auchenorrhyncha (which was formerly included in the now invalid suborder Homoptera). Cicadas are in the superfamily Cicadoidea. Their eyes are prominent, though not especially large, and set wide apart on the anterior lateral corners of the frons. The wings are well-developed, with conspicuous veins; in some species the wing membranes are wholly transparent, whereas in many others the proximal parts of the wings are clouded or opaque and some have no significantly clear areas on their wings at all. About 2,500 species of cicada have been described, and many remain to be described. Cicadas live in temperate-to-tropical climates where they are among the most-widely recognized of all insects, mainly due to their large size and unique sound. Cicadas are often colloquially called locusts, although they are unrelated to true locusts, which are various species of swarming grasshopper. Cicadas are related to leafhoppers and spittlebugs.
Cicadas are benign to humans under normal circumstances and do not bite or sting in a true sense, but may mistake a person's arm or other part of their body for a tree or plant limb and attempt to feed. Cicadas have a long proboscis, under their head, which they insert into plant stems in order to feed on sap. It can be painful if they attempt to pierce a person's skin with it, but it is unlikely to cause other harm. It is unlikely to be a defensive reaction and is a rare occurrence. It usually only happens when they are allowed to rest on a person's body for an extended amount of time.
Cicadas can cause damage to several cultivated crops, shrubs, and trees, mainly in the form of scarring left on tree branches while the females lay their eggs deep in branches.

Many people around the world regularly eat cicadas. They are known to have been eaten in Ancient Greece as well as China, Malaysia, Burma, Latin America, and the Congo. Female cicadas are prized for being meatier. Shells of cicadas are employed in the traditional medicines of China.

98 Degrees - Because Of You - LIVE - The Package Tour Concert in Las Vegas July 6, 2013

98 Degrees - Because Of You

Aleta and I got tickets for The Package Tour live concert at Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, NV and went to see her favorite band, NKOTB! It was my first time seeing them perform, her second, and they were awesome! Supporting acts were Boyz II Men and 98 Degrees.

98 Degrees (stylized as 98°) is an American adult contemporary boy band consisting of four vocalists: brothers Nick and Drew Lachey, Justin Jeffre, and Jeff Timmons. The group was formed by Timmons in Los Angeles, California, although all of its members originate from Ohio.
Unlike most boy bands, they formed independently and were later picked up by a record label, rather than being assembled by a label or a producer. They have sold over 10 million records worldwide and achieved eight top 40 singles in the U.S.
The group reunited for a one-time performance at Mixtape Festival in Hershey, PA in August 2012.

Boyz II Men is an American R&B vocal group best known for emotional ballads and acappella harmonies. This group is a trio, featuring baritone Nathan Morris alongside tenors Wanya Morris and Shawn Stockman. In the 1990s, Boyz II Men found fame on Motown Records as a quartet, but original member and bass singer Michael McCary left the group in 2003 due to health issues.
In the 1990s, Boyz II Men gained international celebrity behind unprecedented success on the pop charts. The group's first single to reach Number One, 1992's "End of the Road" reached the top of charts across the globe. "End of the Road" would set a new record for longevity, staying at Number One on the Billboard Hot 100 for thirteen weeks, breaking a decades-old record held by Elvis Presley. Boyz II Men would exceed that record later in the decade with hits "I'll Make Love to You" and "One Sweet Day" (with Mariah Carey), which each set new records for the most weeks at Number One, with fourteen and sixteen weeks, respectively. Both songs also topped the charts in Australia, for four weeks and one week, respectively. As of 2013, "One Sweet Day" still holds the all-time record with sixteen weeks at the top of the Hot 100. In short, Boyz II Men ranks at the top of the list three times -- at the number one, three, and four spots -- for the longest running Number One singles in Billboard history. Furthermore, when "On Bended Knee" took the number 1 spot away from "I'll Make Love To You," Boyz II Men became only the third artist ever (after The Beatles and Presley) to replace themselves at the top of the Billboard Hot 100. Boyz II Men are among a select group of artists that have held at the number one spot for at least 50 weeks cumulatively, placing them just fourth on that list behind Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and Mariah Carey. These achievements were enough to earn Boyz II Men recognition as Billboard Magazine′s fourth most successful musical group of the 1990s.
Boyz II Men continues to perform in concert to audiences around the world. Their most recent studio album, Twenty, was released in 2011.
